PEOPLE WHO DON’T DON’T is a coming of age/maybe love story set in a working-class neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. DANNY is a twenty-four-year-old who is famous for quitting everything and RONNIE is a tough, twenty-something beauty school student who works at a plastic factory during the day. Danny falls for Ronnie, who has no interest in a total screw-up while simultaneously struggling to deal with being pregnant. Danny is relentless, while managing to get his life at least slightly together. They go on several not-dates and ultimately, end up going to Danny’s family Christmas party together, the future uncertain but wide open.
PEOPLE WHO DON’T DON’T is written by acclaimed writer, Joe Meno. He is a writer and cultural journalist who lives in Chicago, a winner of the Nelson Algren Literary Award, a Pushcart Prize, a Great Lakes Book Award, and a finalist for the Story Prize, and the author of seven novels and several collections of short stories.
